I work with non-linear thinkers who are searching for a therapist with intuitive wisdom who cherishes the divergent path. I specializes in connecting with ADHDers who have always felt different even if others couldn't tell. My clients are notoriously curious and adept improvisors, who are playfully creative, but they still feel perpetually out-of-sync with the world around them. They charm others with their insight and levity, and save the biting criticisms for themselves. So they end up feeling like anxious imposters, waiting to be exposed. Acquiescing to others has helped you get by without too many catastrophes, but deep down you can't keep convincing yourself that you're okay with just getting by. There's a deeper itch that's beckoning you into an alternative way of being. Yes, still different, but personal, integrated, aligned with your soul. I approach therapy as the life-changing work that it is, and while there's a serious commitment to exploring one's psyche, it doesn't mean you or I are required to take ourselves too seriously. Excavating one's own lived experience and the difficulty of navigating a world not built for you is not for the faint of heart, yet we continue to be curious, adapt, and play. I am intentional in creating and holding space for clients to find and share a more authentic version of themselves. Clients are well-met when they bring curiosity about their distinct approach to life, courage to speak what has been left unsaid, and compassion to nurture a deeper truth about themselves.

I consider the relationship between client and therapist one of the most important factors in therapy. As a therapist, my goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space so I can assist others in exploring negative patterns in their lives and help them develop new tools to foster positive coping skills. I utilize a holistic approach to therapy, with special focus on the body and mind and how they interact. As a registered yoga teacher, my treatment approach places emphasis on turning inward and reconnecting with the body to help release stored emotions. I use a trauma-informed approach to life issues with clients and incorporate mindfulness skills, somatic movement, and breathwork into my therapy practice. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders. Additionally, I work with clients who are experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, addiction, caregiver stress, interpersonal/relationship problems, and codependency.

My hope for clients is to not merely function but to thrive! I don't want you to forgive and forget your traumas. I want you to own them and break the shame that keeps you shut down. Other people may have left you in some dark places, but you have the power to get yourself out. You deserve to have a life worth living, even in the moments you struggle to believe it. I've dedicated my career to trauma and grief therapy working with hundreds of clients and trauma professionals in a multitude of settings; from coordinating trauma programs at psychiatric hospitals to consulting with various community mental health agencies, groups, and practices.

You feel exhausted from running in circles. You try so hard, but you still can’t shake the feeling. You over-schedule, overcommit, and always keep yourself busy. You listen to podcasts about stress and time management, but still have a hard time relaxing and having fun because your brain won’t shut off. You haven’t had a good night’s sleep in ages, and you never feel rested. Maybe you … • Can’t stop thinking about an incident or situation—to the point where it’s hard to focus when usually you are on top of everything. • Watch yourself overreact to people and situations, but you don’t know how to stop it. • Zone out and feel like you’re watching yourself from afar at a meeting or social event. Or maybe you lose hours at a time binging Netflix or getting lost in games or social media on your phone. • Spend a lot of time worry about other people’s behavior, motivation, and what they might be thinking about you. Say “yes” even when you don’t want to. • Know that you have so much more potential, but end up feeling exhausted and can’t shake the feeling that no matter what you do, you’ll never be “good enough. I’m here to support you with empathy, compassion and expertise. I specialize in supporting busy professionals, healthcare workers, and helpers of all kinds who have it within them to work through their pain and heal their wounds but need some help getting there. I’m a certified EMDR therapist who has over 20 years experience as a clinical social worker. My advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (a somatic approach), and Internal Family Systems (“parts work”) means I have the expertise you need and deserve. I also have a background in improv and theater, so we may even find ourselves having fun along the way! Therapy doesn’t need to be all tears. My clients describe me as warm, collaborative, supportive, creative and nonjudgmental. Through my work with clients, I have learned that “words are not enough” and that therapy modalities that address suffering from a “bottom up” perspective have long-lasting, permanent results. Therapy approaches that focus primarily on coping skills and talk therapy to gain insight can sometimes leave you feeling frustrated, because no matter how much you try to talk and think your way into feeling better, it can only take you so far. You may intellectually understand your issues, but you still feel like there’s a disconnect between head and heart. My clients are looking for deeper change. My approach integrates EMDR with attachment-focused therapies such as IFS (Internal Family Systems) and body-focused psychotherapies such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, along with talk therapy, so that every step we take together is tailored to healing that includes both mind and body and helps you get to the root of issues so can start to feel like yourself again. My goal is to empower you in every step of the process. Together, we’ll identify the difficult experiences that are causing you to feel stuck and we’ll create a roadmap so that you’ll know how to achieve your goals. We’ll focus on your strengths and build on your resources with practical mind-body tools that really work for you. We’ll work on transforming old wounds that are causing distress so they no longer keep you stuck in old patterns and unhelpful beliefs. By the end of our time together, you will know that even when life gets tough—which it inevitably will!—you will meet future challenges with self-compassion and resilience.

I specialize in working with sexuality, gender, and relationships through an anti oppressive attachment based lens. I am trained to work with couples/relationships and see many 2SLGBTQIA+ and non monogamous/polyamorous relationships. I provide Trans, Non-Binary, and Queer affirmative care. My training is in Marriage and Family Therapy, which basically means I have extensive training in working with more than one person in the room as well as considering relational context even when I am seeing an individual person. I practice relationship/marriage/premarital therapy through an attachment based lens and am trained in The Developmental Model of couples work. I have also completed Gottman Level 1 and incorporate that training when useful. I am trained in Brainspotting and find the clients seeking to process difficult experiences and/or move through areas in which they feel stuck benefit from this modality. I provide sex therapy through sex and pleasure positive lenses.

Sometimes the world we live in can feel intensely overwhelming and our everyday lives can seem particularly challenging to navigate. If you’re feeling lost, I assure you, it’s a perfectly normal part of the human experience. Reaching out and searching for help is an excellent step to find your way forward through whatever you’re facing, whether that’s a recent loss, the pressures of a new school or job, or even difficult family relationships. Therapy can give us so many gifts: the space to process our experience, skills to ease challenging situations, and even deeper insight into our own unique sense of the world.
