Therapists for college students near Austin, TX
I'm Eloise and I help college students navigate the tough stuff. Whether it's stress from school, anxiety, identity exploration, relationships, or feeling stuck, you don't have to figure it all out alone. I create a space where you can vent, process and grow--without judgement. I get that college is a time of major transition and pressure. My style is collaborative, down-to-earth, and focused on what you need--whether that's coping strategies, deeper self-awareness, or just someone who really listens. Let's talk about what's going on, what's holding you back, and how we can get you feeling more like yourself.
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I work best with individuals who are navigating the impact of trauma and who are open to exploring how their past continues to live in their body and shape their present. Together, we’ll gently uncover how your experiences have influenced your nervous system, your emotions, and your inner narrative—so that healing can begin not just in the mind, but in the body as well. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that the body holds deep wisdom. Through Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, and sound therapy, I support clients in reconnecting with their inner guidance system—the intuition that emerges when we truly listen inward. This work can bring about clarity, regulation, and a felt sense of peace that goes beyond intellectual insight. At its core, my work is relational and intuitive. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in connection—with self, with body, and with another safe presence. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, helping you explore your story and reconnect with your innate capacity for resilience and wholeness. If you’re feeling the pull toward deeper healing—toward safety, embodiment, and self-trust—I invite you to schedule a consultation. You don’t have to do this alone.
The number one complaint I hear from my clients about past experiences with therapy is how impersonal and detached their experience felt. They craved more warmth, and a vested interest from their therapist in their growth — an ideal mixture of sincerity, kindness, advocacy, and accountability. Tailor-made for women, my approach weaves together all of these elements, creating a container that provides powerful and life-changing results. A sense of feeling safe, seen, and understood takes precedence over “fixing things,” since I don’t buy into the belief that any of us are broken to begin with. So, if you’re struggling with things like high anxiety, low-self worth, or simply feeling lost, then you’ve come to the right place. Together, we will work to break past your limiting behaviors and create space for self-compassion, deep emotional healing, and enriching relationships.

My passion is for those who seem "put together" on the outside but feel anxious, disconnected or stuck beneath, because I've been there. We'll develop tools to calm anxiety and overcome life's challenges so you can gain clarity, healing, & change. Welcome! I am a Judi Yapias board-certified Licensed Professional Counselor, and I specialize in intergenerational trauma and understanding how trauma and stress affect the body. To better understand what your body is signaling, I integrate modalities in my practice such as mindfulness-based therapy, somatic techniques, and trauma-conscious approaches. This is an impactful approach to better understanding big and uncomfortable emotions, what the body is communicating, and those teeny, tiny voices of intuition telling us something is off. My goal is to help you begin the process of understanding and connecting with yourself on a deeper level. We’ll work on building trust between your head and heart and explore all the things about your life - cultural identity, relationships, behaviors, values, feelings, and belief systems. Together, we’ll create a foundation that empowers you to feel more integrated and aligned. Specialties Mental Health Conditions treated Relationship issues Trauma Anxiety ADHD Depression Treatment philosophy Whether you may be experiencing BIG feelings, interpersonal struggles, or wanting to better understand yourself, I am here to support you using a collaborative approach. Through a guided process and integration of mindfulness-based and trauma-conscious approaches, you and I will talk through your lived experiences. Some of these discussions will give you a sense of joy, sadness, frustration, anxiousness, pride, and excitement. As we dig and uncover these stories in a safe space, we often begin a discovery of your strengths and wisdom - from a present you and intergenerational standpoint. I am committed to working with individuals to assuage the burden of their issues through mutual commitment to their growth. This is sometimes accomplished individually, or, in some cases, as couples work. I further work with young men struggling to establish an identity in the absence of their biological fathers.
I am a board-certified mental health practitioner who provides individual therapy to clients in Massachusetts and Texas. I am currently only offering telehealth sessions at this time.
It's not about me, it's about you becoming the best you that you can be, overcoming whatever has been holding you back, and pursuing your dreams. If you're really interested in me though... I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 31 years of experience in social services (14 years as an LPC), find fulfillment in helping others to become fulfilled, am a happily married father of two (boy and a girl), enjoy playing music, am a lifelong learner, and have benefited from the exposure gained by traveling the world. My career has been varied and broad. I have helped young people find their path, adults define their purpose, and older souls examine transitions. My professional practice has included extensive experience treating people with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, IDD (intellectual and developmental disabilities), TBI (traumatic brain injuries) and other conditions; but more importantly, I am here to listen! No matter where a person is in life, my goal is to help those that I serve to fulfill their potential! I base my practice on an integrative approach which uses tools drawn from sources such as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, REBT, Multi-Modal Therapy, Mindfulness, and other useful "classical" orientations. These techniques are incorporated and organized within a framework (general orientation) of Positive Psychology. In other words, I use proven, evidence-based therapies to help you to fulfill your potential!
Hi, I'm an LPC-Associate at Alive Austin. I work well with college students experiencing stressors and stages commonly faced during this period: life transitions, depression, anxiety, relational concerns, family conflict, or unprocessed childhood trauma. Many of my clients may struggle with boundaries, people pleasing, and navigating their new roles and responsibilities living on their own for the first time. Many people I see have also put off working though painful or significant experiences from their past that are still impacting them presently. I aim to help you build self-awareness, discard what is no longer serving you, and start finding fulfillment in life. I am currently unable to accept insurance as an LPC-Associate in Texas. I try to accommodate to students' needs by offering sliding scales. I also offer free consultations so there is not initial cost until you feel we're a good fit.

Like most of my clients I have my own share of childhood trauma. I’ve had to deconstruct childhood messages of not being good enough. I’ve had to learn to set boundaries and learn that I’m not required to put others' needs above my own. I think learning that I'm loved and worthy, even when other's are angry with me has been the most difficult lesson of all. The very path that many of you are starting out on, I have walked myself. This journey isn't about reliving your worst memories, it's about taking away their power. I’ve worked hard to reclaim my own story, now I want to help you reclaim yours. I specialize in helping those with anxiety and trauma, both in individual and couples counseling. Using the Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Parts work, and EMDR approaches I help client's find ways to ease the sharp edges of relationships and life. I help find ways to navigate difficulties in life and move with ease and grace. I'm not a passive therapist and I actively work to help build skills you can use every day. I like to use humor, playful sarcasm, and just enough of “tell it like it is” to help you reach your personal summits. I will challenge you to stretch but not break your comfort zones. I will also sometimes be the kick in the pants you need.
Hi, my name is Homero Lopez and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I specialize in working with adults that experience depression and anxiety associated with borderline, MDD, GAD and other challenges. I also work closely with relational challenges and couples. My focus is on non-traditional relationships. I work often with polycules, or individuals in nontraditional relationships to find balance and trust. My early sessions will be learning what you need and your goals for therapy. I have worked in places like the 988 crisis hotline and inpatient hospital settings where I provided comprehensive DBT group therapy for a wide variety of populations. I also heavily integrate Gottman methods into my couples work. I believe that everyone should have the capacity to live their life on their terms. Let's find that. I may sometimes seem to have a unique take on things as I think that we're all doing the best we can in the moment. I think that a lot of things people find to be different can make perfect sense given the right context. This doesn't mean that it's the most effective. Please feel free to schedule a call and let's see it make sense and what can be different.

**Some Insurance Accepted in NC through Headway** I practice via telehealth in NY, NC, WA, and TX. I specialize in working with adult men and women who are secretly miserable. You may look fine on the outside, but inside you're struggling to get your own needs met, codependency, perfectionism, and shame. Gestalt Therapy goes beyond looking at just the cognitive, linear perspectives of the person. It demands of the therapist an awareness of the body and how it manifests in the psyche. Through its focus on process rather than content, the patient gains an experiential awareness of how they do what they do and new choices emerge spontaneously. The radical focus on process in the creative therapy of Gestalt keeps the work alive and full of possibility for both the patient and my work as a therapist. Melissa Bennett-Heinz obtained her master’s degree in clinical social work from Columbia University (Class of 2002) and is a graduate of Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in New York City, NY. She is a licensed clinical social worker in NY, WA, NC, and TX and has over twenty years of specialized training and experience in PTSD, childhood abuse, mood and anxiety disorders.
