High-pressure environments have a way of making you lose sight of your own strengths — even when you have them. If you're managing intense emotions, struggling to feel grounded, or just tired of performing for everyone around you, this is a space to stop and actually breathe. I take a warm, person-centered approach and draw from CBT, DBT, and trauma-focused techniques to build tools that work in your real daily life — not just in the therapy room. Our work is collaborative and practical, focused on building self-awareness and confidence that sticks. You don't have to have it figured out before reaching out. Reach out today — let's build something steadier together. *Insurance & Fees* I am in-network with Northwell Direct. For all other major insurance companies, I am an out of network provider. I work with college students and young adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, family patterns, eating disorders, or a general sense that something feels off — even when life looks fine on the outside. My approach is warm, relational, and depth-oriented. Rather than focusing only on symptom management or coping strategies, I'm interested in helping you understand what's underneath — the patterns, histories, and experiences that shape how you feel and relate to others. I offer psychotherapy and integrate attachment-focused EMDR when it feels appropriate. Sessions are available in-person in Beacon, NY and Manhattan, and virtually throughout New York State. If you're not sure what you want to work on, that's okay. Many people come to therapy knowing something isn't working but not yet able to name it. We can figure that out together.

I have been practicing in New York City since 2015, giving guidance to those who want to make changes and implement strategies to handle conflicts, transitions and issues which create barriers to their own happiness. We all go through transitions and different waves in our life but ultimately we all want to live a genuine authentic life. We have the capacity to obtain it but how to navigate it is the challenge. It can be daunting to start therapy and be vulnerable with a stranger. I provide the space for you to work at your own comfort, pace and autonomy. I provide talk therapy that is reflective, and explorative with compassion. Treatment goals are a collaborative effort. As an experienced mental health professional, my passion lies in exploring and processing trauma, as well as in improving interpersonal understanding and communication. I take a present-focused, strengths-based, and relational therapeutic approach to care, guiding you toward the lasting healing you deserve. Having trained at the VA, I have worked with patients with a variety of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and PTSD. My specialties also include family issues, gender and sexuality topics, OCD, life transitions, and stress management. I believe that trust is the cornerstone of therapy. As such, our time in the therapy room is tailored together, collaboratively, so you feel comfortable, seen, and heard in our work. Using a combination of talk therapy, motivational interviewing, elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Gestalt, among others, I seek to meet the goals you and I set together. This will often involve building self-awareness, self-esteem, and understanding of thought patterns.
If you’re here, I see the courage it takes to start this work. Many clients seem put-together but privately struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, or people-pleasing—often rooted in past trauma or early relational patterns. Using EMDR therapy, parts work, and mind-body approaches, we move beyond insight to embodied healing in a warm, collaborative, trauma-informed space—processing trauma, breaking old patterns, and nurturing your growth, confidence, and self-trust so you can feel grounded, resilient, and fully alive. Alongside more structured therapies like CBT and DBT, I also incorporate mind-body healing practices including the Emotional Freedom Technique, mindfulness, attachment theory, and inner child healing. You can expect therapy to feel like a safe space where you, your needs, and your growth are prioritized, and where elements of the body, mind, and spirit are all equally emphasized. I look forward to meeting with you and traveling through this healing journey together.

Hi, I’m Benjamin. I'm a queer-affirming, trauma-informed mental health counselor offering therapy across New York State. I help individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about who they are or what they need—especially those navigating identity, trauma, and relationships. Many of my clients are adults working through the impact of past trauma, anxiety, shame, or disconnection from themselves or others. Some come to therapy unsure of how to express their needs in relationships, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel right. Others are exploring who they are, who they’ve been told to be, or who they want to become. If that resonates, you’re not alone—and you’re in the right place. My approach is relational, compassionate, and collaborative. I work from an integration of mindfulness with attachment-focused and trauma-informed therapies. If you're curious about working together, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. I'd love to meet with you.

I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, with an emphasis on existential, narrative and somatic techniques. My main tool is my curiosity about my clients’ inner lives - by working to understand my client’s motivations and boundaries, I help them gain clarity about their emotions and behavior. I use a person-centered and solution-focused lens to help clients find space for healing and change. I am a queer identifying therapist and a third generation Holocaust survivor. I have experience helping clients navigate trauma, anxiety, depression, bereavement, life transitions, and relationship challenges. My background in birthwork and psychedelic crisis counseling has led me to prioritize trust and consent in the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help clients construct lives that they find fulfilling and meaningful. Being human is hard - fortunately, you don’t have to do it alone. My job is to help you find joy, integrity, meaning, and peace in the journey.
