Finding a therapist is so much fun! Said no one, ever...We're likely a fit if you feel like others' don't get you/your lifestyle, consider yourself an outlier, or identify with a marginalized community, and/or is a high-risk/risk-taker. Also, if you use substances recreationally, medicinally, spiritually, and/or problematically I'd love to hear more and support your relationship with those substances. Contact me to schedule a free consultation and we can discuss more than what 640 characters allow. Stay rad & be kind. For folx seeking Clinical Supervision for LPC and/or LAC hrs, I ONLY take post-grads. If you found me through the Board of Nursing for SUD assessment, contact me to discuss this process, fee, and I require IN-PERSON evaluation for this. I care for my clients and recognize this is your life, time, finances, and energy. You are the expert in your life and I'm here to help explore what may be getting in the way of your highest self. Katie has working in the mental health field for over 10 years, supporting individuals, couples, children, and families as they navigate both everyday challenges and deeper healing work. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College and a Master’s degree from Boston University, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Colorado. Alongside her graduate training, she completed a clinical fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Psychiatry, specializing in Child Development and Infant Mental Health. Over the years, she has sought out additional training to better support her clients, including EMDR (both basic and advanced trainings), Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Circle of Security Parenting. She is also endorsed in Colorado as an Infant Mental Health Specialist. While her background is rooted in research and evidence-based practice, she believes therapy is ultimately about human connection. Katie brings a warmth, curiosity, and compassion into every session, creating a safe space for you to feel understood and supported as you work toward lasting growth.
I became a therapist because I genuinely want to provide a space for people to show up just as they are. You don’t need to feel a certain way, say anything specific, or meet any goal on my timeline. When we can sit back and accept ourselves as we are, we begin to hear things we couldn’t while trying to fix or fight parts of ourselves. I believe even the most challenging parts of us have protective purposes—they deserve curiosity, not shame. I work from a place of intuition and connection more than a strict model or method. I believe in being direct and encouraging you to take the risk of getting uncomfortable. At the same time, I’ll meet you with real empathy, patience, and compassion—plus a bit of humor or lightness when it feels right. Finding the right therapist is hard—especially one who truly sees your full, authentic self. If anything you’ve read resonates, I’d love to connect. Reach out for a free consultation and we can see if this is the space you’ve been looking for.

I was born and raised in Rockford, Ill. before moving to Columbia, Mo. to attend the University of Missouri. I graduated with a Bachelors of Journalism and moved to Rogers, Ark. where I worked as an editor and designer for Celebrate Arkansas Magazine. I fell in love with Northwest Arkansas and stayed in the area to attend graduate school at the University of Arkansas. I earned a Masters of Science in Counseling in 2015 and opened a small practice in 2016. I relocated to Denver, Colorado in 2020. I decided to become a counselor because -- most simply put -- I believe in counseling. Throughout my own counseling work I have come to see the value in sitting across from another person and allowing them to see all of me—my fears, my doubts, my shame, my joy, my hurt. I find author and researcher Brene´ Brown sums it up best: “Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as spending our lives running from it. Embracing our vulnerabilities is risky but not nearly as dangerous as giving up on love and belonging and joy—the experiences that make us the most vulnerable. Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light.”
