I believe that we all have had experiences that shape our sense of the world and impact our relationships with others. My approach to therapy involves exploring how past experiences impact the present and helping my clients use those insights to make active, positive, and healthy changes around their sense of self and in their relationships. In the years I've been providing therapy, I have maintained a generalist practice, working with individuals facing a range of challenges. My areas of speciality are in working with women in life transitions, working with individuals who identify as LGBTQ+, and working with individuals experiencing issues around sexuality and relationship functioning. I am a sex-positive therapist with an open and accepting worldview about the infinite range of human sexual desire and expression. Using techniques from narrative therapy, interpersonal therapy, and psychodynamic therapy, as well as more directive approaches, I will work with you in creating a therapy experience that is completely individualized. My understanding is that no two people are alike, and, therefore, therapy is a uniquely co-created experience.
I support clients with anxiety, trauma reprocessing, family and relationship dynamics, and attachment/ inner child/ parts work. I enjoy helping clients "free themselves" from stuck parts or narratives, build self-confidence, heal childhood or relational wounds, and feel empowered in your own strengths instead of a "problem to fix." My approach draws on a variety of modalities including IFS, narrative therapy, strengths-based, and somatic/ body work. My style is relational, warm, and easy going. I believe healing happens within the context of authentic and supportive relationship. I aim to make our time together filled with curiosity and compassion. I welcome (and highly value!) the incorporation of any cultural or spiritual identity you deem important. I have both personal and professional experience with a variety of cultural backgrounds, and I am bilingual English/ Spanish. I am a licensed psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, and I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology. Student who benefit most from therapy with me are interested in learning more about themselves--their close relationships, their goals (even if they feel uncertain or lacking), and their sense of self. Perhaps you are feeling depressed, anxious, or you're currently in substantial distress due to important changes or stressors in your life. Perhaps life is going well enough, but you simply feel empty, lack meaning, or you want more out of life. Adjusting to college can be challenging, whether it be (a) moving away from home, making friends, and adjusting to academics during your first year, (b) attempting to develop or maintain a social life, or "catching up" during the "Sophomore Slump", (c) choosing an academic major, or (d) completing a Sr thesis or figuring out what you want to do after graduation. These are all common reasons that bring students into counseling with me. Exploring one's developing or conflicted sense of racial, sexual, or gender identity are other common reasons students seek psychotherapy. I strive to create a therapeutic atmosphere that is safe, nonjudgmental, and nurturing.

The individuals I help on a daily basis experience anxiety, depression, nightmares, issues with controlling their substance use, and difficulties building and maintaining meaningful relationships. The majority of the individuals I work with have experienced physical, verbal, or sexual abuse, neglect, and/or have gone through adversities and overwhelming experiences that have left a lasting impact on them. Events affect us all differently, if you feel like you are exhausted with trying to manage uncomfortable feelings alone, reach out and we can have a conversation about how our work may be able to give you the relief you have been hoping for. Hello! I’m a trauma-informed psychodynamic therapist with clinical experience covering a wide range of issues in adolescence and adulthood. I am well-versed in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma recovery/PTSD, grief, relationship and communication issues, intimate partner violence, out-of-control behaviors, problematic substance use, and school/work stress. I will support you in finding deeper feelings of fulfillment, ease, self-alignment, and possibility in your life. I work primarily with college students and people in the years after they leave or graduate college. Changes in social life, feeling a part of something bigger or not, family dynamics, and/or figuring out work can be tough on top of whatever you were already dealing with. The political moment brings feelings of despair, rage, and loneliness. People I work with are deeply affected. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. I work well with individuals of all backgrounds. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and with years of experience in non-monogamous relationship structures, I work with many queer and trans people and people in non-monogamous relationships. I deeply respect the unique lives of the individuals I work with, and I love to witness their progress toward their goals. My therapy approach is psychodynamic - grounded in the understanding that past experiences influence us consciously and unconsciously. I use a strengths-based, whole-person perspective, and I also offer skills and tools using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) depending on your goals for therapy. I work alongside you in a process of exploration and meaning making. You can expect me to be warm, humorous, genuine, and straight-forward. I would love to hear from you.
