Therapists for college students near New York University
My work is primarily catered toward issues such as acute stress, interpersonal difficulties, and challenges involving mood and anxiety. While I welcome individuals of all backgrounds, I am particularly invested in working with clients with marginalized identities, acting as a welcoming ally to queer and trans identified individuals and people of color. As a therapist, I have close to a decade of experience working with a range of at-risk populations in a number of professional settings. Many of my clients arrive feeling like they move from one stressor to the next. Getting out of bed is difficult, creativity and passion fade, and scrolling on a screen replaces human contact. My practice aims at helping individuals uncover, clarify, and address substantial barriers which block pleasure and satisfaction. The work I do involves a deep exploration of historical, interpersonal, and emotional factors in conjunction with the development of practical skills aimed at fostering wellness.
For over a decade I have been a psychotherapist working with teenagers and college students, families, and couples. I focus my treatment on anxiety, depression, substance abuse, anger and low self esteem. By providing an open, caring, confidential and non-judgmental environment, I can help you to adjust better to situations in your life and to have a safe space to talk about your problems. Together we can help you to be a healthier, better functioning, and happier you! I very much look forward to working with you!

Some days you’ve got it together. Other days, it feels like everything’s falling apart—classes, friendships, dating, or just trying to keep up. If stress, anxiety, or feeling down is making it tough to focus, connect with people, or feel like yourself, you’re not the only one. Therapy gives you space to talk it out—no pressure, no judgment—so you can figure out what’s really going on and start feeling more grounded and confident. I bring warmth, creativity, and a sense of humor into the room, because therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. If you’re ready to feel a little lighter—and a lot less alone—let’s get started.

No-one prepares you for the challenges experienced when adjusting to college life. The new found independence can be both exhilarating and daunting. You find yourself either missing your family or feeling relief at having a chance to forge your own identity . Between the work load and all the new interactions , you are suddenly juggling so many things all at once. It can be stressful , lonely, and emotionally overwhelming. Everyone promised that college would be life changing, and it is, but it can also be difficult. Instead of being embarrassed , or ashamed or self conscious about your vulnerabilities, its important to seek out a therapist to explore these issues to better understand, enrich and enhance your relationships and your focus. In therapy we will talk and engage in a dialogue, and my training allows me to approach your issues with flexibility, tailoring my approach to fit your needs.
The college students I work best with are thoughtful, curious, and trying hard, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. Many are dealing with anxiety, perfectionism, or OCD and feel overwhelmed by the pressure to succeed, figure things out quickly, or keep it all together. Some struggle with focus, motivation, or routines, even though they care deeply about their goals. A lot of my clients tell me they feel stuck in their heads, constantly overthinking, procrastinating, or second-guessing themselves. They’re tired of feeling like they’re falling behind and want someone who truly understands and can offer tools that actually help. In our work, we make space for what’s difficult while building real strategies to help you feel more grounded, capable, and clear about what you want.
Hi! We are a therapy practice providing individual therapy, couples counseling, group therapy, and psychedelic integration. We offer in-person therapy sessions in our Williamsburg, Brooklyn offices, as well as online therapy sessions throughout New York state. We are an excellent match for people who subscribe to non-traditional lifestyles and we specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community. Our staff is expertly trained, multilingual, and diverse in experience and background. However you identify, we strive to truly know you as an individual - your values, beliefs, and outlook on life - while also maintaining an appreciation for overarching human needs, such as the desire for connection with others and the longing to feel understood. We offer therapy that is tailored toward your specific needs and rests on an affirming, humanistic, and trauma-informed stance. We are trained in a range of modalities, including psychodynamic, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), internal family systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and somatic work. We will help you build insight into why you are feeling distress, so that you can use this insight to make positive changes to improve your life and start feeling better. While working to deepen insight, we concurrently help you process any difficult emotions that arise. Depending on your needs and requests, we may integrate therapy skills and tools, mindfulness exercises, or movement and art in our work together. We consider therapy to be a co-created process and attend to your mind, heart, body, and spirit to help you heal.

As a Creative Arts Psychotherapist and Drama Therapist, I interweave creative expressive techniques along with traditional talk therapy to support you in releasing old patterns and habits, identify places you feel stuck, and move towards a place of self acceptance, healing, and growth. My role as therapist includes being a guide and support on your unique journey, utilizing both creative expression and talk therapy depending on your needs and level of comfort. I believe that real change happens when we connect mind and body, allowing us to explore places that hold us back, and reconnect with ourselves to live a more full and joyful life. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, self esteem issues, and learning differences.
