Dr. Hanan Hashem
I help young adults dealing with trauma, mood issues, life transitions, and big questions about identity and purpose. My work focuses on how your personal experiences, family history, and social environment impact your mental health. I specialize in healing intergenerational trauma and mood disorders, using a culturally sensitive, relational approach. What sets me apart is integrating spirituality and liberation psychology into therapy. If you're open to it, we can explore spiritual practices and work to critically examine beliefs and systems. If you feel we could be a good fit, reach out for a consultation—I'm here to support.

I am located right in Harvard Square in an old Victorian house on Mt. Auburn st. I have daytime hours, early evening hours and I am in the office on Saturdays. My approach is psychodynamic. This basically means I will be an active participant in the healing relationship. We will look at all areas of life and how things from the past may be interfering with the present. I will always call you within 24 hours or less. I have traveled extensively in my life and so I welcome students from the international community as well as local students. I am a native Bostonian! I welcome undergraduates as well as graduate students.

Hi! My name is Julia, and I’m excited to meet you! First, let me introduce myself and share what working with me will be like. My practice focuses on balancing acceptance and change—embracing who you are and your life-circumstances, while also encouraging progress and self-transformation. My method combines evidence-based modalities (Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices) with Liberation Health Theory, a holistic approach that will help you unlearn harmful societal messages that are deeply ingrained in all of us. I’m committed to helping you build internal self-worth and trust. You will be able to tap back into your intuition, and move forward with confidence. I often use humor in our sessions to help make things feel a bit more relaxed. It’s all about finding a balance—supporting you through challenges while keeping things approachable. Nobody wants to feel like they’re talking to a wall! I show up authentically in sessions, hoping that you can too. I specialize in helping clients navigate: * Life changes * Depression * Anxiety * Body image concerns / self-esteem * Relationship struggles * Trauma * Family relationships / boundaries * Navigating neurodivergence (ADHD, ASD, etc.) We all deserve to face life’s unique challenges from a regulated starting point. I know that this is not always easy in 2024, and I will be committed to your improvement, whatever that looks like for you. I meet you where you are at. Accepting new clients! At the center of my work is the belief that healing happens through connection—therapy begins with a space that feels safe, compassionate, and authentically supportive. I work with adults and young adults who are navigating life changes, anxiety, depression, identity questions, relationship challenges, and the ongoing work of self-discovery. I am affirming of LGBTQ+ identities, supportive of neurodiverse experiences, and committed to practicing in ways that are inclusive, culturally attuned, and trauma-informed. My style is person-centered and strengths-focused, rooted in humanistic values. I support clients in making sense of their experiences, discovering meaning, and reconnecting with what matters most to them. In addition to my general practice, I also support caregivers, siblings, and parents of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offering space for emotional processing and deeper understanding. I see therapy as a collaborative journey, an opportunity to explore meaning, reclaim personal narratives, and cultivate resilience. Each person brings their own wisdom, and I’m honored to walk alongside you as you move toward greater clarity. Please reach out with any questions you may have about the therapeutic process or working with me!

Anjalie Pieres LMHC
Welcome! I offer clinical treatment to people experiencing trauma, mood disorders, & issues of identity (race, gender, sexuality, culture). I am South Asian, queer, and genderqueer (they/them). I am also an artist, and happy to incorporate creativity into our work together. No pressure, though! Traumatic experiences have a way of shackling themselves to the body, whether they are accumulated over time or single incidents which compromised our safety. We seek to protect ourselves from a world that has failed to protect us, often coping in ways that hurt in the long run. In our work together we will identify sources of pain, the impact they have on your life, & determine ways to reclaim power so that your body becomes a place of safety rather than a site of trauma. Come as you are. My goal is to be both a gentle witness and an ally, helping you to find & stand in your power, identifying disparities & restoring balance in your life. I believe you are here because you are ready to value & give yourself a chance to shape your future with your own hands. I couldn't be more hopeful for you.

Jennifer Durham-Fowler
As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.

During our initial phone and/or email consultation, we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our therapy style (ACT, Solution Focused, CBT, Narrative, Buddhist Philosophy etc.), payment, health insurance and more!
Brianne Darcy Counseling & Performance Psychology
If you’ve been finding yourself stuck in old patterns that you cannot change, perhaps struggling with feelings of inadequacy or fear of failure, you’ve come to the right place. The constant doubting and shaming of a strong inner critic can prevent us from entering new relationships, pursuing our interests and goals, and convince us that it’s not safe to allow anyone to get to know our true selves. Choosing to confront these themes in therapy takes courage and vulnerability, and represents the first step in a decision to prioritize your mental health. I will work with you to explore the themes that brought you to therapy, and develop the self-compassion to show up more authentically in your life. My therapeutic style is compassionate, sometimes humorous, and client-led. I center my work around Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, and I often pull from relational or psychodynamic modalities as well. I work with adolescents and adults of all backgrounds, and I specialize in working with those who identify as athletes or performers (musicians, actors, dancers, etc.) If you’re interested in starting therapy to address some of those old patterns or painful feelings, I hope you’ll take the time to consider if we would work well together.
