Congratulations! You are taking the first step in your mental health journey. Are you going through a tough time in your life weather that is a major life crisis, significant life stressors or changes? What about depression or anxiety and looking to gain more coping skills? Have you experienced grief/loss and looking for a therapist who understands the complexities of grief. Are you experiencing fertility challenges or undergoing fertility treatments? These are some of the areas I specialize in. In addition, self-esteem, life transitions, career challenges, career challenges, relationship/boundary setting are other areas I treat.
I work with young adults who want to improve their quality of life by building skills to manage anxiety, stabilize their mood, navigate life stressors, and strengthen communication. I provide counseling in Dallas, Georgia, and online therapy across Georgia. It’s not always easy to ask for help, and I recognize the courage it takes to share your personal thoughts with someone new. I create a safe and supportive space where you can talk openly, explore what’s holding you back, and learn tools to shift unhelpful thought patterns toward greater clarity, balance, and peace. Effective 10/18/25 I'm available Saturdays!
Life can often be difficult and emotions can feel overwhelming. Sometimes it feels as though the rug has been pulled out from underneath us. Maybe you're dealing with your own mental health, you have a loved one struggling with substance use, you're navigating infertility, or you're having a hard time setting boundaries. Whatever it is that has lead you here, I'm glad you are reaching out. I hope to provide a space to you that honors your story, facilitates personal growth and allows you to be authentic. I believe that each of us deserve to find healing and that includes you. Asking for help is one of the bravest things we can do. Life can often be difficult and emotions can feel overwhelming. I enjoy using different approaches in counseling such as solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapies. I believe that you are the expert of your life. I have 10 years of experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, relationship difficulties with intimate partners and family members, women's issues and general mental health concerns. I want to honor the courage it took for you to reach out and offer you a place that is welcoming and nonjudgmental. I value your story and the experiences that lead you here. I look forward to hearing from you. We all deserve a safe space where we can let our walls down, even if just for a little while.
It is incredibly important to have a space where you can just be you. My hope is to provide a comfortable place to talk and process life events, to celebrate successes and to navigate through challenges. There are so many different areas of life that are important, and balancing them all, while finding time to process it all can be challenging. Sometimes dealing with family relationships while away at school can be hard, especially when they are changing and shifting. At times, learning to navigate anxiety and expectations for school and peers can be overwhelming. Figuring out how to balance it all can be a big task. My goal is to support and help you find ways to grow and learn, and navigate these times so that you can be and become who you want to be.

Catherine (She/her) As a school social worker for 27 years, I worked with students PreK-12th grade and their families in school and the community. The last 10 years I focused more on the HS level with more personal issues that were affecting students' ability to focus on their classes. I got a reputation as someone who kept their secrets and helped them sort out who they are, esp. around issues of gender disphoria, sexual identity, and depression that frequently accompanies the struggle of self acceptance and showing ones' authentic self to others. College is a tough time for many people. If you think I can help you with this transition, please set up a video conference today. It's as confidential and encrypted as I'm capable to do.
Between the 2:00 AM study sessions, the constant pressure to have your life figured out, and the exhaustion of keeping up a 'perfect' digital presence, it’s a lot. If you’re feeling like you’re just vibrating with anxiety or running on manual mode, I see you. I’m Dr. Tinai James, and I help students navigate the messy, non-linear transition of college. My office (and my screen) is a zero-judgment zone where we ditch the clinical "therapist-speak." Whether you're dealing with burnout, relationship drama, or just trying to figure out who you actually are outside of your GPA, let's figure it out together. No couch required—just real talk and actual tools.
Many of the students I work with are used to handling things on their own. They're hardworking, care deeply about the people around them and often put a lot of pressure on themselves to keep everything together. From the outside, they may seem like they're doing fine, but inside they're feeling overwhelmed, anxious or unsure of what comes next. If you're looking for a therapist who will listen without judgment, help you make sense of what you're experiencing and work alongside you to create meaningful change, we may be a good fit. You don't have to have everything figured out before you start therapy, just a willingness to show up.
What are you seeking? Whether or not the answer to this question is clear to you, my guess is you are aware of a deep sense of wanting to feel or live differently. I'd like to help you connect more fully with your own best qualities, your passions, and the vision you have for yourself and your life. Let's build these visions, while also facing the challenges that offer resistance, so that you can take action toward creating meaningful and lasting change. It would be my privilege to be your ally and support you in this process. You deserve to be seen, heard, and understood. I bring a strong client-centered, interpersonal, and experiential approach to this work. I enjoy using nature as a context for healing and your own creativity as a catalyst for exploring what matters to you and connecting you to your best self. I am committed to facilitating a powerful experience that leads to transformative change for you and often utilize an Internal Family Systems approach to support that.
Do you want to feel connected to others? Are you looking to transform an emotional wound? Are you seeking hope? You deserve to feel known and seen and understood. You deserve to feel permanent. As a queer, nonbinary, polyamorous therapist, I understand the importance of developing secure attachments in order to navigate the world. I offer individual and relationship therapy. I work with teens, young adults, and adults to explore gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodiversity, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and relationships. I take a collaborative approach to the therapeutic relationship and tailor sessions to your goals in therapy. As we work together this may look like traditional talk therapy or an embodied drama therapy approach. If you are looking for a therapeutic modality that moves beyond verbal processing into a somatic practice, drama therapy is a good option. Through metaphor, we can explore trauma while minimizing retraumatization. We can explore roles like the hero, the optimist, and the child. Through play, we can connect and transform.

I have been working with clients and their families for more than 9 years. My theoretical models are strengths-based and systems. I'm a licensed clinical social worker. At Papini Counseling, we believe healing and growth are most powerful when they are supported by compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based care. Our approach is rooted in the belief that each person’s experience is unique, and therefore, therapy should be tailored to fit the individual—not the other way around. We combine clinical expertise with real-world strategies to help clients build insight, strengthen resilience, and create meaningful change. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, or everyday stress, our team works alongside you to identify goals, develop practical skills, and move forward with clarity and confidence. Our clinicians draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, trauma-informed care, and person-centered approaches. We also incorporate mindfulness, psychoeducation, and strengths-based techniques to support clients in building long-term emotional well-being. In addition to individual therapy, we offer couples and family therapy, group support, coaching services, and professional development for schools and organizations. Whether you are seeking personal growth or system-wide support, our team is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel seen, supported, and empowered to move forward.
Using a client-centered approach in an accepting and caring environment, I enjoy working with those who experience issues from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, women's issues, and life transitional issues, such as marriage, separation, and divorce. We can work together to develop your individual goals to reach your greatest potential of well-being. I utilize the most current evidence based treatments in my practice to promote healing of the body and mind. I would love to meet with you to see if I would be a good fit for your needs! I received EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training in 2016 and have been an EMDR certified therapist since 2018 and have been trained to utilize ego states and cognitive interweaves, flash technique, and other evidence based strategies within EMDR. I also utilize a client-centered approach with various treatment modalities in addition to EMDR to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relaxation and Stress Management Techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Memory Reconsolidation in Trauma Therapy. I would love to meet with you to see if I would be a good fit for your needs!
You want to appear like you have it all together, but deep down you feel lost, empty, and like something is missing. You've been working on yourself for years, but you are still anxious, still people pleasing, and still asking yourself “what is wrong with me?” You feel like a chameleon and like people don’t know the real you, even worse-you don’t know the real you anymore. You’re tired of going through the motions of life without actually living it. You know it’s time to change and you’re ready to dive into your darkness to face your demons. You’re ready to do the hard work, but need a guide to show you how. And then you find me! I help introspective women struggling with anxiety and low self-esteem stop people pleasing and finally feel safe enough to be unapologetically themselves—by reconnecting with who they truly are and what they deeply want. Together we explore your inner world & make deep level changes so you can become the person you are meant to be. Clients come to me for a relaxed and comfortable counseling space, shoes are optional! In my office, clients feel safe to take up space and be seen. It’s not too late for you to change your life. You are not too far gone and you’re not too broken. You’re just a mosaic and together we can put those pieces back together so you can increase your self-esteem and be a version of you that you are proud of. Head to my website for more information or to schedule a session. I look forward to connecting with you!
I am dedicated to supporting clients facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorder, and significant life transitions. My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies tailored to each client’s unique needs. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused and Person-Centered therapy, EMDR, and Trauma-Focused therapy. In our initial sessions, you can expect a safe, warm, and nonjudgmental environment where your experiences are met with authenticity and respect. I believe strongly in the healing power of a genuine therapeutic connection—one where clients feel truly seen and heard. We will set attainable goals together and work toward meaningful progress. I am passionate about empowering clients throughout their recovery and wellness journeys. I firmly believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing, regardless of their history. It is a privilege to walk beside you as you build confidence, resilience, and the tools needed to navigate life’s complexities.
In our "land of the free," experiences of depression, anxiety, stress, and trauma are increasingly common. Many feel weighed down by shame about the past, dread about the future, or disconnection in their relationships. Our culture that demands constant productivity makes it easy to lose sight of meaning and connection. I work with people navigating these challenges, particularly those at the intersections of religious trauma, neurodivergence, and gender & sexual identity. If you're searching for clarity, growth, and connection, I am here to partner with you. My practice is informed by DBT, ACT, psychodynamic theory, and intersectional feminism. I aim to be a fellow explorer and accountability partner. Above all, I am a curious person, and I thrive on finding the joy and (sometimes dark) humor in everyday life. I know that finding a therapist and scrolling through profiles can be stressful or scary. If you're feeling that way, we can start there. In our sessions, no topic is taboo or off the table (try me). Authenticity is never wasted, and I want to meet you in whatever stage you're at, mentally and emotionally. Reach out and let's chat.
Two decades ago, I sat where you are now—uncertain but hopeful. Today, as a licensed therapist in Georgia, I use both my personal and professional experience to help you navigate your way forward. In fact, I still see the professional who first helped me start my journey—a testament to my belief in the power of having someone in your corner. If you are curious, I encourage you to take a chance on yourself. There is no commitment—you are entirely in the driver’s seat—just a safe space to see what is possible. I built my practice to be a soft landing spot for women and LGBTQ+ individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and complex family dynamics. If this sounds like you, you are in the right place. Over the past decade of working one-on-one with clients, I have developed signature healing groups—such as Transcending Trauma, Just Between Us Girls, and Adulting After Dysfunky—because I deeply believe that we heal the same way we are hurt: in relationship. Beyond our sessions, I am committed to your growth. I actively maintain an extensive, curated resource network of books, podcasts, articles, clinical handouts, and trusted specialists who uniquely understand the needs of trauma survivors. You don't have to do it "right." You just have to show up. My clients struggle like you do They got good at going it alone so they’ve gone it alone (or at least it feels that way sometimes.) They’re the people who want to feel in control and powerful, but instead they’re left bearing the weight of the world and have no idea where to start to find their way out from under it. They feel like a ticking time bomb. It looks to the rest of the world that they’ve got it all together, meanwhile they’re left thinking, “oh but if they knew the real me…” You don’t have to live inside this cloud of shame. You don’t have to live forever with the weight of your own self doubt.
