Therapists for college students near University of Colorado Boulder
Noble Mentors
If you're a college student who is smart and capable but stuck, we get it. Maybe the structure that carried you through high school disappeared, deadlines pile up, you know what you should be doing and can't make yourself start, or the semester feels like it's slipping away. Noble Mentors pairs you with a mentor who works with you in real life, not just in an office: on campus, at a coffee shop, on a trail, or on video from anywhere. Together you build the systems that actually work for your brain (time, tasks, routines, follow-through), practice them side by side, and then you own them. We work especially well with students with ADHD, executive function challenges, autism and neurodivergence, social anxiety, or the general feeling of being off track. Mentoring is not therapy and doesn't replace it; many of our students also see a counselor, and we coordinate with your care team. Every mentor is trained and supervised, with clinical oversight from our Clinical Director, a licensed clinical social worker. In person across Boulder, Denver, and the Front Range, and by video nationwide. Free 40-minute consultation, and you get to choose your mentor.
Erica Mellon – Noble Mentors
If school felt like it was built for someone else's brain, I get it. I was the curious, driven kid who struggled with ADHD, anxiety, and the pressure to perform, and traditional classrooms rarely fit. As a Noble Mentors mentor I work with college students on the practical side (executive functioning, routines, follow-through, life skills) and the confidence side (self-trust, anxiety, body image, figuring out what you actually want). A lot of our work happens outside an office: a walk, a trail, a coffee shop, or video if that's easier. I have 10+ years working with young people, a background in eco-psychology and filmmaking, and training in trauma-informed and nature-based mentoring. Mentoring isn't therapy, and it works alongside a counselor if you have one. In person in Boulder and Denver, and by video.
Heléne Van den Berg – Noble Mentors
Purpose isn't about getting into the right program or hitting someone else's milestones. It's about knowing who you are and what matters to you, and building a life around that. I mentor college students who are stepping out of treatment, struggling with social anxiety, questioning their identity or faith, or who just feel stuck between what they should be doing and what they can make themselves do. We work on executive function and life skills side by side, in real settings, until the systems are yours. I hold an M.A. in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling, have three years with at-risk young adults, and am trained in trauma-informed care and group facilitation. Mentoring is not therapy; many of my mentees also see a counselor. In person across Boulder County and north Denver, and by video.
Jenna Ledet – Noble Mentors
Some of the most meaningful changes I've seen in people happened when they slowed down enough to hear themselves. I mentor college students working through identity (queerness, gender, who you are away from home), recovery, anxiety, and the feeling of not quite belonging. We might walk, sit outside, do some mindfulness, or just talk through a week that got away from you; the goal is real skills you can use when I'm not there. My background: wilderness therapy field guide, behavioral health tech in substance-use recovery, 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher, Wilderness First Responder, and a B.A. from Columbia. Mentoring isn't therapy and works alongside it. In person across Boulder County and north Denver, and by video.
Isaiah Hill – Noble Mentors
I came up as an athlete, raised by my grandmother, and both taught me the same thing: discipline works better with people in your corner. As a Noble Mentors mentor I help college students build the unglamorous stuff that keeps a semester on track (budgeting, routines, responsibilities, showing up) and work through what gets in the way: social anxiety, old habits, staying accountable in recovery. I have a B.A. in Psychology, am working on a master's in transpersonal counseling, and am trained in motivational interviewing, IFS-informed parts work (non-clinical), and DBT/CBT skills. Sessions happen where life happens: the gym, a trail, campus, or video. Mentoring is not therapy, and I coordinate with your counselor if you have one. In person in Boulder and Denver, and by video.
Lucian Davis – Noble Mentors
I grew up in Boulder. School was hard for me, I made up for it by being friends with everyone, and for a big stretch of my adult life I was stuck: numbing out with cannabis, sports, and screens while my ambition sat under the surface. I got out of that, and now I mentor college students who recognize the pattern. We work on the concrete things (getting to class, finishing what you start, routines that hold up under stress) and the honest things (what you're avoiding and why). My strength is connection; people tend to tell me the real version. Mentoring isn't therapy; it's a trained, supervised person walking alongside you, and it pairs well with counseling. In person in Boulder and Longmont, and by video.
Jake Favor – Noble Mentors
I graduated high school with no real plan beyond vague musical ambitions, and it took a lot of good conversations with the right people to find a direction. That's what I try to be for college students now. If you're smart and capable but can't get yourself moving, or the semester is slipping and you don't know how to say so, we start there. I work on the practical side (time, tasks, follow-through) and the bigger questions underneath, and I meet students where they actually are: campus, a coffee shop, a trail, or video. Mentoring is not therapy, and it works alongside a counselor. In person in Boulder and Denver, and by video.
Andrew Walsh – Noble Mentors
My work comes from lived experience. I know what it's like to lose yourself trying to be who you think you're supposed to be, and what it takes to rebuild from the inside out. I mentor college students who are performing well on the outside and falling apart on the inside, or who have stopped performing altogether: anxiety, perfectionism, identity and faith questions, the failure-to-launch stretch after a hard year. We work on real structure (routines, follow-through, the systems that make a semester survivable) and on honesty with yourself. Mentoring is not therapy; it's a trained, supervised relationship that pairs well with counseling. In person in Boulder, Denver, and Erie, and by video.
Jazmine Gatt – Noble Mentors
Let go of who you think you're supposed to be. I mentor college students who are neurodivergent (ADHD, autism, learning differences), exploring LGBTQ+ identity, or carrying a mental health diagnosis and trying to have a normal semester anyway. We build executive function and self-regulation skills you can actually use (somatic tools, routines, reframing the story you tell about yourself), and we do it in real settings, not just across a desk. I have a B.A. in Psychology with a neuroscience focus, am pursuing a master's in clinical mental health counseling, and have ten years in behavioral health and psychoeducation, including as an addiction-recovery peer specialist. Mentoring is not therapy and doesn't replace it; I coordinate with your care team. In person in Denver and Boulder, and by video.
Joe DeNicholas, LCSW – Noble Mentors
I'm the Clinical Director at Noble Mentors and a licensed clinical social worker. Noble Mentors is a mentoring practice, not a therapy practice; my role is to make sure the mentoring is clinically sound. I provide oversight and consultation on cases, train and supervise the mentor team, and coordinate with students' therapists, counseling centers, and families so support is thoughtful and doesn't work at cross-purposes. If you're a counselor or case manager considering a referral, I'm the person to talk to about fit, risk, and how mentoring can sit alongside treatment. If you're a student, the mentors listed under Noble Mentors are who you'd work with; I'm behind them. Serving Boulder County, Longmont, Berthoud, and north Denver, and by video.

Life throws many challenges at us and sometimes it can be hard to know what to about these challenges. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety and depression and are feeling down more than usual or aren't feeling like they belong. I know what it feels like to not feel good enough, to worry about what people think of you, and to constantly be there to help others but not always be there for yourself. If this is something you struggle with, I am confident we can work together to navigate these issues. We can add more joy and take away stress from your life.
Wild Grounding Psychotherapy
I support teen girls, young women, and mothers who are carrying heavy feelings about self-esteem, body image and eating struggles. I also specialize in working with women on their prenatal journey; navigating the big transitions of pregnancy and postpartum. So often, these seasons of life bring up emotions we’re told we shouldn’t have—confusion, doubt, even resentment—right alongside love and joy. My role is to create a space where nothing has to be hidden, and where your whole experience is welcome.
